Insuring your HGV, where should you go?
Whether you own one lorry or a fleet of a hundred, having insurance in place isn’t an option. If you operate on Britain’s roads then you must have cover in place to protect other road users and their vehicles.
The trouble is, the costs of doing business are increasing all the time – staff costs, the price of fuel, electricity back at your office. It’s tempting to try and save some money on your insurance – after all, you haven’t had an accident for years.
The trouble is, accidents can happen at any time – and if you’re not properly protected, the impact on your business can be devastating. If you operate a lorry – or lorries – then the only time they’re earning for you is when they’re on the road.
But who do you go to for your HGV insurance? You want the best policy to protect your vehicle and your business, but time’s money. You don’t have time to shop around.
The answer is to go to an independent insurance broker who specialises in HGV insurance – who’s dealt with it for years and who has a specialist HGV team: a company like Staveley Head. Staveley Head Goods Vehicle Insurance offers fantastic and reliable cover.
Why? Because number one, they’re experienced. Whatever question you have about your HGV insurance policy, they’ve heard it before and they’ll know the answer. And they’ll take the time to understand you and your business – because they already deal with thousands of HGV clients, they’ll know how important it is that you stay on the road. And of course, they’ll know exactly what you need to have in place to comply with the law.
As Staveley Head are independent brokers, they deal with all the insurance companies. That’s important – not only can they shop around to find you the most competitive quote, they’ll also be able to advise you on how the insurance companies will deal with any claim you make. They’ll recommend a company who’ll deal with it quickly and efficiently. There’s no point saving a few pence on your premium with Company X if their response to your claim is “I’m sorry, all of our operators are busy.”
Running an HGV business is tough at the best of times. But with Staveley Head in your corner you can stop worrying about the insurance on your vehicle. They’ll find you exactly the right policy – one that keeps your vehicle, and your business, safely on the road ahead.
Paradoxical rise of sales at MG UK at the expense of rising fuel costs
Even though fuel costs are high than ever before in the UK, yet the vehicle tracking company MG UK registered a 50 percent rise in sales for its first quarter of business this year. Although apparently this might seem a little paradoxical at first glance, yet if you can consider the concern of vehicle fleet owners over errant drivers or fuel thieves stealing the fuel, then the rise in sales seems perfectly justified.
MG UK is a Leeds based business enterprise that installs vehicle-monitoring devices that utilize satellite technology to provide live vehicle tracking updates to the fleet owners. Vehicle fleet owners are increasingly considering these updates in order to monitor how the fuel in their vehicles is being spent. MG UK director Don Riley was optimistic that the rate of increase in business indicates that the total turnover would definitely cross beyond the 1 million pound limit, only three years after the company started trading in vehicle-monitoring devices. Explaining the 50 percent rise, Riley said, “The business is expanding rapidly with sales increasing by 50 per cent for the first quarter of 2011 with 95 per cent being new customers,”
MG UK recently moved to its new premises in Wyther Lane, Kirkstall, as a part of its business expansion plan.
